The Program Manager is responsible for the overall development and operation of the Safety of Seniors/Handyman Program; a fall prevention and minor home repair program for senior citizens, and the City Harvest Food Bank Program in compliance with Volunteers of America guidelines; which include program development, personnel management, volunteer recruiting and management, data collection and fiscal management, implementing home safety assessment program, the development and management of all agency food drives. Developing and maintaining professional liaison relationships within the community and with partner agencies for respective programs.

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff for City Harvest and Handyman.
  • Coordinate procurement and distribution of food.
  • Ensure that the senior's voice is heard, and the senior's ideas play a prominent role in programming.
  • Lead the execution of day-to-day operations in the City Harvest Program, ensuring smooth operation during open hours (Monday-Thursday, 8 AM-12 PM).
  • Ensure services align with the evolving needs of older adults by analyzing service statistics, demographic trends, and best practices.
  • Assist the Senior Director in developing and managing program budgets, monitoring revenue and expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility.
  • Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants and foundations, to enhance program sustainability and service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with SUA and other funders' policies and procedures, maintaining necessary records and documentation.
  • Leverage the database to manage program data, monitor service metrics, and generate reports that inform program evaluation and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and submit grant applications and reports, ensuring compliance with all funding requirements.
  • Distribute and analyze annual client satisfaction surveys, overseeing outcome measurements to assess program performance.
  • Maintain meaningful communication and relationships with community partners, regulatory organizations, and service providers.
  • Plan and implement outreach efforts to raise awareness of program services and educate the public on the needs of older adults.
  • Oversee volunteer recruitment, orientation, and recognition to support program needs.
  • Act as a backup as needed for operational tasks, including City Harvest Coverage or client calls and assessments.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned in alignment with program goals.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area or the equivalent relevant experience.
  • Two years supervisory experience and two years direct experience in program implementation, monitoring and reporting skills.
  • Own transportation, valid Colorado driver's license, and proof of insurance.
  • Pass criminal background check and is bondable.
  • Experience driving a standard box truck or larger vehicles.
  • Experience and/or certification for forklift and other warehouse equipment operations.
  • Food Handler certification.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
