About The Position

The Health Promotion Section Manager oversees various health education and promotion programs within the El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency. This role involves managing staff, developing policies, and ensuring compliance with federal and state laws to improve community health outcomes. The manager will also engage in budget preparation, program analysis, and community representation, contributing to the overall mission of enhancing public health in the region.

Requirements

• Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, or a related field.
• Two years of experience in administrative, financial, and management analytical support or in a technical area related to the assigned programs.
• Experience in a leadership position in Public Health.
• Expertise in grant, budget, and program management.
• Strong personnel management skills including recruiting, hiring, and training.

• Subject matter expertise in health education and health promotion.
• Experience with Community Health Assessments and Improvement Plans.
• Knowledge of Continuous Quality Improvement processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage assigned health promotion programs.
• Select, train, evaluate, and discipline subordinate staff.
• Interpret federal and state laws affecting assigned programs.
• Assist in the development of policies and procedures.
• Prepare detailed reports on service quality and efficiency.
• Maintain awareness of changes in laws and regulations.
• Provide consultation on complex program matters.
