About the position

Mississippi College is seeking qualified applicants for the position Program Principal Faculty and Director of Preclinical Education, Department of Physician Assistant Studies. The Physician Assistant Program at Mississippi College is a 30-month program of study leading to a Master of Science in Medicine degree. The maximum class size is 36. The primary mission of the Mississippi College Physician Assistant Program is to educate and train students to provide high-quality medical care for the people of Mississippi and the nation as members of the healthcare team. We enjoy a collaborative relationship with the University of Mississippi Medical School. We are home to a modern medical education facility, a state-of-the-art cadaver lab, and a new medical simulation center. We also prepare our students for service at international clinical rotation sites, if desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for the Physician Assistant Program.
• Mentor students and teach within the program.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards and processes.
• Foster a collaborative environment with faculty, staff, and community professionals.
• Engage in continued professional development and scholarly work.

Requirements

• Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in PA studies required.
• Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program or currently licensed allopathic or osteopathic physician.
• Current or Emeritus NCCPA certification status if a PA.
• Minimum of three years academic experience in physician assistant education.
• Demonstrable academic leadership and motivational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
