About the position

The Program Specialist (Behavioral Health) at CalOptima Health is responsible for supporting various projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the delivery of behavioral health services. This role involves participating in workgroups, monitoring quality performance data, and assisting in the coordination of strategies to improve access to care and awareness of behavioral health services.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in and support behavioral health workgroups and initiatives.
  • Review, monitor, and track quality performance data related to behavioral health services.
  • Assist in creating and updating project plans and maintaining project-related materials.
  • Develop and edit communication pieces for members and providers.
  • Prepare for health fairs and educational sessions.
  • Conduct research on behavioral health topics and best practices.
  • Attend and support cross-functional quality improvement teams.
  • Collaborate with others to support departmental goals and priorities.
  • Complete other projects and duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of experience in the health care industry, preferably in behavioral health or public health.
  • Experience working with underserved populations to reduce health care disparities.
  • Access to transportation for work away from the primary office approximately 20% of the time.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in public health or related field.
  • Bilingual in English and one of CalOptima Health's defined threshold languages.
