As a lead programmer analyst within the Kanawha County Management Information Services, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing processes and teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). This position requires a solid foundation in systems analysis and design, along with the ability to adhere to standard programming procedures and possess knowledge of relevant functional areas. You will be responsible for preparing technical system and project documentation, which is crucial for the successful execution of projects. Your primary responsibilities will include analyzing business needs, designing, writing, and testing new programs and applications. Strong coding skills are essential, as is the ability to test and troubleshoot applications and software programs effectively. Additionally, you may assist in data cleansing, conversion, and transition activities from one system platform to another, ensuring a smooth migration process. This role is inherently cross-functional, and you may be required to act as a team leader on a project basis, which will involve related project management tasks as necessary.
