About the position

The position involves planning, directing, and coordinating activities for civil industrial projects, including Wastewater Pump Stations and Water Reclamation Facilities. The role ensures that project goals are met within specified time frames and budgets, requiring both technical expertise and strong leadership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and understand plans and specifications.
  • Follow administrative procedures as outlined in Project Administration Manual.
  • Inspect construction sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction/safety standards.
  • Produce accurate schedules using CPM scheduling programs.
  • Supervise and coordinate the submittal process and working drawings requirements.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, and designs for the project.
  • Provide contract interpretation and clarification.
  • Maintain and update project schedules with assistance from the Project Superintendent.
  • Understand cost and productivity data.
  • Maintain, verify, and report cost and income quantities for work performed.
  • Review, approve, and submit progress billings.
  • Analyze, prepare, and monitor job costs and production budgets.
  • Work with Superintendent to control job costs and production budgets.
  • Prepare and submit accurate monthly cost, income, and cash flow projections.
  • Execute and approve subcontractor requisitions and vendor invoices.
  • Coordinate, price, and assist Project Manager in settlement of change orders and claims.
  • Respond quickly to issues and proactively solve problems.
  • Organize office and filing systems efficiently; maintain accurate project correspondence files.
  • Ensure subcontractor insurance certificate compliance.
  • Maintain project compliance with underground utility notifications and locations.
  • Promote and participate in planning with the job team.
  • Treat all coworkers with respect and work well with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Consistently apply and enforce Safety Policy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from a four-year college or university.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficient with spreadsheet and word processing programs, and CPM scheduling programs such as Primavera Project Planner.
  • Understanding of cost and productivity data.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Project Management software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business reports and procedure manuals.
