About The Position

The Project Engineer serves as the chief engineer on construction projects, overseeing scheduling, engineering, material expediting, and on-site project administration. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications.

Requirements

  • Must have at least a Master's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Must have completed graduate-level coursework in Project Management, Construction Cost Estimating, Risk Management, and Construction Materials.

Responsibilities

  • Be proficient with the company's computerized scheduling software.
  • Assist the Project Superintendent in developing and updating the CPM schedule.
  • Maintain the project CPM schedule monthly.
  • Process all shop drawings and submittals, coordinating and scheduling them.
  • Review shop drawings for completeness, accuracy, and conformance to plans.
  • Create and maintain a complete record of all contract documents for the project.
  • Maintain a current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals.
  • Review the completed status of the submittal schedule weekly and analyze it.
  • Prepare construction drawings for various project needs, including dewatering plans and excavation layouts.
  • Familiarize with the requirements of the contract documents and resolve discrepancies.
  • Monitor the project buyout and manufacturing process for timely material delivery.
  • Inspect received materials for quantity and quality, ensuring compliance with contract documents.
  • Set up control sheets to monitor material quantities and consumption rates.
  • Initiate field purchasing and small equipment rentals, obtaining three quotes.
  • Prepare and reconcile owner pay estimates, accumulating necessary data.
  • Record and reconcile daily quantities with the Engineer.
  • Identify and document all extra work, processing proposals and change orders.
  • Draft necessary correspondence and submit required reports to the owner.
  • Maintain daily records of significant operations and take job pictures as needed.
