Universal Orlando Resort is seeking a Project Manager for Asset Management Programs within the Tech Services department. This role is pivotal in organizing and establishing effective project management practices. The Project Manager will be responsible for developing the scope of work for each project, initiating and managing the Request for Bids (RFP) process, and developing the budget and schedule for the projects. The position requires coordination and management of engineering design and specification decisions, ensuring that all production documentation aligns with UDX Performance Specifications. The Project Manager will also be tasked with developing and routing contracts for approvals, aiming to avoid claims and disputes while minimizing issues during the various phases of the project. In this role, the Project Manager will effectively manage changes and eliminate disruptions among all project participants. They will oversee the project schedule and budget, ensuring quality design and production work while properly managing construction work in the field. Daily onsite visits to assigned projects will be necessary to prepare and report the status of projects. The emphasis will be on hands-on management of field operations, maintaining operational use of completed facilities during construction and installation, and implementing efficient and timely document control. The Project Manager will prepare construction documents, which include construction drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and general conditions. They will oversee and coordinate the creative and technical design development process, ensuring that the technical services goals and project approach align with the budget and schedule. The role also involves completing the bidding and awarding of construction documents, which includes developing a bidders list, project schedule, and preparing the RFP, which encompasses various essential components such as instructions for the bid, bid response forms, and environmental health and safety requirements. Additionally, the Project Manager will perform oversight of vendor contracts, evaluating technical performance and adherence to contract requirements, managing submittals, requests for information, modification documents, and the change order process. They will monitor changes or delays to the construction schedule, evaluate contractor performance, and develop recovery plans for any schedule variances. The role requires preparation of initial and additional capital funding requests, including project justification and budget development. The Project Manager will also actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities, adhering to established policies and procedures.
