About the position

The Project Manager - Capital Improvement and Facility Renovations at CBRE is responsible for leading individual, multi-disciplined life sciences and lab-related commercial project solutions with direct accountability for project delivery. This role is hybrid, requiring the selected Capital Project Manager to report to the office and/or project sites in the West Point, Pennsylvania area three to four days per week. The position involves managing all facets of project management, including budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk for laboratory, infrastructure upgrade, and office renovation projects. This includes planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout phases of the projects. In this role, the Project Manager will interface directly with clients to prepare all elements of the project, which includes defining the scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimates, budget, work plan schedule, milestones, quality control, and risk identification. The Project Manager will also define project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the project qualification process, conduct standard RFPs, complete bid evaluations, and recommend resources to clients. It is essential to implement project documentation governance that aligns with company and client requirements, ensuring project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely, and coordinated. The Project Manager will lead project delivery resources and teams, providing guidance and direction to achieve project goals. Building action plans to meet objectives, budget, and schedule is crucial, as is tracking the progress of each project and reporting status and variances. The ability to identify project threats and develop risk mitigation and contingency plans is vital, as is implementing action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks. The role may also involve mentoring others and sharing in-depth knowledge of expertise, requiring a broad knowledge of several job disciplines within the Project Management function. The Project Manager will lead by example, modeling behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values, working to build consensus, and convincing others to reach agreements. This position impacts a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within the team and related teams, working within broad guidelines and policies and explaining difficult or sensitive information as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all facets of project management for individual Laboratory, Infrastructure upgrade, and Office renovation projects including planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Interface directly with clients to prepare all elements of the project, including the scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimates & budget, work plan schedule & milestones, quality control, and risk identification.
  • Define the project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the project qualification process.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with at least 4 years of related experience and/or training.
  • Experience in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), HVAC, laboratory, and interior office renovations.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, and a working understanding of MS Project is helpful.
  • Previous AEC experience preferred, including construction project management, owner's rep, or project management.
