About the position

Odin Construction, headquartered in Northern California, is seeking a Project Manager to join our rapidly growing team. Specializing in environmental remediations and geotechnical construction, we work with esteemed clients such as the Army Corps of Engineers, the State of California, the Department of Water Resources, and the Sutter Butte Flood Control Agency, among others. As we expand our operations with several projects lined up for the coming years, we are looking for a top-tier Project Manager who embodies our corporate philosophy of safe, quality production and client satisfaction while ensuring the most favorable economic outcomes for the company. The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to manage each assigned project effectively, adhering to Odin's policies and procedures. This role reports directly to the respective Regional Manager and involves coordinating labor and equipment with the Vice President of Operations. The Project Manager will oversee the selection, assignment, and utilization of job supervisors, foremen, engineers, health and safety officers, and workers to ensure project success. Key duties include initial client contact to assess project scope and resource requirements, preparing comprehensive estimates based on detailed reviews of proposal specifications and drawings, and supervising the total construction effort to ensure compliance with design, budget, and schedule. The Project Manager will also plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions, provide technical assistance, maintain extra work estimating, and manage change orders, all while assuming responsibility for the contractual performance of the project. Additional assignments may be given as directed by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Manage each assigned project according to Odin's corporate philosophy of safe, quality production and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate labor and equipment with the Vice President of Operations for the selection and assignment of job supervisors, foremen, engineers, health and safety officers, and workers.
  • Provide initial client contact to assess the scope of work and resources required for project completion.
  • Prepare complete estimates for selected projects with detailed reviews of proposal specifications, drawings, and takeoff information.
  • Supervise total construction efforts to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Interface with client representatives, AE representatives, and other contractors as necessary.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise onsite functions including scheduling, engineering, and material control.
  • Provide technical assistance, including interpretation of drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment.
  • Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Assume responsibility for the contractual performance of the project.

Requirements

  • 4-year engineering degree or Construction Management degree, or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • Minimum of eight years of construction management, estimating, and/or craft supervision experience in similar facility construction.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction including technology, equipment, methods, craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and supervisory skills are essential.
  • Highly detail-oriented with solid analytical and problem-solving skills.
