The Project Manager or Senior PM for Enterprise Information Technology - Clinical and Epic at UTHealth is responsible for overseeing cross-functional, enterprise-level project management activities. This role is pivotal in the development and implementation of project management strategies that support the Central IT Chief Information Office (CIO). The Project Manager will utilize extensive project management skills to ensure the accurate, efficient, and timely delivery of project deliverables while meeting stakeholder requirements and effectively managing project scope. The position operates under the guidance of a Senior Project Manager, ensuring that all project activities align with organizational goals and standards. In this role, the Project Manager will manage multiple complex projects, ensuring consistency and effectiveness in project deliverables. This includes managing technology and business process improvement projects and contracts, developing effective plans, and meeting deadlines. A clear understanding of all relevant legal and contractual matters related to projects is essential. The Project Manager will ensure that project initiation is well-defined, which includes a detailed review of customer expectations, business drivers, requirements, design, service level agreements (SLAs), and success metrics. Keeping projects on track while managing risks and controlling quality is a critical aspect of this position. The Project Manager will provide effective leadership and guidance to project teams, promoting a cohesive team environment. This includes monitoring the performance of project team resources and facilitating problem resolution as necessary. Collaboration with management, vendors, customers, and IT staff is crucial for coordinating, planning, assigning, and reviewing project plans and deliverables, as well as contracts and work products. The role also involves initiating internal, enterprise-level projects as requested, obtaining necessary authorizations, and ensuring that projects demonstrate business need and feasibility. Additionally, the Project Manager will analyze established project management procedures for continual improvement and make recommendations as appropriate. Preparing comprehensive and accurate schedules and reports, as well as performing evaluations and effective presentations of pertinent data to various groups, are also key responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and integral role within the organization.
