Project Manager

About the position

Ultra Maritime provides innovative systems and product solutions for maritime based applications both in the UK and international market. Offering a range of turn-key products, services, and niche product solutions using in-house technology, specialist third party products, and COTS technology to the defence industry. The role of the Project Manager is pivotal to the success of the business with focus being on successful project delivery in an IPT environment. Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager is responsible for allocated project delivery, ensuring that assigned projects are completed on time, to budget, and to the expected quality requirements. The Project Manager will also be responsible for providing support in establishing best practice, providing suggestions of improvements to the current processes, practices and methods, and looking for potential opportunities for improvements.

Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the management and delivery of assigned projects with full accountability for project performance.
• Deliver projects in line with the Ultra Maritime processes, procedures and standards.
• Define, communicate, execute & monitor the project and prioritise project outcomes in line with agreed contractual and delivery requirements.
• Develop and lead project teams, providing leadership, direction, and control through effective work package management.
• Ensure project objectives, progress, and the approach for implementation is clearly communicated to stakeholders.
• Effectively manage internal and external Stakeholders, including effective expectation management and clear communication.
• Develop, implement and maintain project plans and statements of work (SOW's).
• Manage project resource demands and ensure the correct resource demand requests are fed into the Resource Forward Load process.
• Effectively manage risks, issues, and opportunities within allocated projects.
• Build strong customer relationships acting as the primary point of contact for customer communication and liaison.
• Maintain project performance dashboard incorporating reporting metrics.
• Report status and performance of the assigned projects in line with Ultra Maritime's management reporting cycle.
• Lead assigned bids, taking on the role of a Bid Manager as required.

Requirements

• Typically, a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a related field.
• Achieved APM accreditation.
• Experience in project management or multiple functions working with project management best practices.
• Job holders will be required to gain and maintain security clearance 'SC'.
• Typically, a Master Degree (or equivalent) in a related field and related experience in program management.
