About the position

The Project Manager independently provides project management support for small and or medium company projects that involve coordination between various groups both within divisions as well as across divisions at Alaska Airlines. The position contributes to the success of Alaska Airlines by managing projects in accordance with established processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, make recommendations, and maintain project plans, charters, and schedules that support customer needs.
  • Apply deep knowledge and use considerable judgement to determine the approach to ambiguous challenges, make decisions and influence across the company.
  • Drive the execution and successful delivery of large and/or complex projects and define the long-term strategy for managing projects to design, develop, and implement new systems and process improvements.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in project/change management or working on project teams as a team member or project lead.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field, or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Demonstrated aptitude to independently manage projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to positively influence project outcomes using an analytical approach and instill a sense of urgency in the project team to complete work on time.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with business and technology groups.
  • Ability to successfully lead project efforts to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple objectives/tasks.
  • Ability to identify problems and collaboratively develop alternatives for resolution.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge to define and develop People Change Management / Business Readiness plans for projects.
  • PMP certification or desire to obtain PMP certification.
  • Experience with MSFT Teams and SharePoint.
  • Experience with Smartsheet, MS Project, MS Teams or other schedule and collaboration management tools.
