About the position

The Property/Facility Mechanic II is a vital role responsible for a wide range of facility-related tasks and improvements. This position involves performing manual labor and semi-skilled work in the maintenance of facilities and grounds. The responsibilities include light construction and repair work in various areas such as electrical, mechanical, basic masonry, and carpentry. The mechanic will conduct preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on properties and facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally. Regular inspections of the property for safety and security issues are also a key part of the job, along with practicing safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures. The role requires the ability to work independently without reliance on others for instruction and guidance. The mechanic will assist in the electrical servicing of all buildings located at Air Park and perform grounds maintenance, ensuring that all necessary areas are mowed and trimmed to maintain a pleasant appearance. Additionally, the mechanic will be responsible for snow plowing, shoveling, and salting of all parking lots and sidewalks to ensure safe access to all facilities. The position may also involve applying pesticides and herbicides using proper protective equipment and assisting other areas as needed. The Property/Facility Mechanic II may serve as a backup for other Airport support service groups as required.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Possess the ability to communicate accurately and concisely in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Have a valid Driver's License.
  • Two (2) to five (5) years of property/facility maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of standard principles, methods, practices, techniques, tools, and equipment used in maintenance and repair of building structures, machinery, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment fixtures.
  • Solid understanding of OSHA plus Federal and State regulations.
  • Good knowledge of maintenance methods and equipment across various disciplines.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and manipulate tools in small spaces.
  • Perform work at heights.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with high and low voltage up to and including 480 volt, 3 phase.
  • Two (2) years maintaining airport lighting systems, pavement, and grounds.
  • Class B CDL License.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills.
  • Advanced technical training and certifications are highly desired.
