House of Spices is a deeply rooted brand within the food industry, leading the specialty food and ingredient category for over 50 years. Fast-forward from its start as a homegrown family business, House of Spices has become a middle-market wholesale/manufacturer which includes multiple distribution networks across the country. Although the business has and continues to expand rapidly, the brand is still family-owned and home-based out of the NYC metro area. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team-oriented culture! The Property Insurance Manager at House of Spices Inc will ensure that all properties operate smoothly, including but not limited to maintenance, daily operations, legal compliance and financial responsibilities. This position will be directly in charge of vacancies, coordinating maintenance work, enforcing leases, new acquisitions, preparing reports, and potential property transactions. This position will include management of all aspects of the sales and use and property tax compliance process, planning, audits and system integration. The ideal candidate will have expertise in general liability, maritime, workers compensation, trucking, and cyber crime insurance. Essential Functions: Develop and implement strategic plans to effectively manage property insurance portfolios, aligning with company objectives and industry best practices. Oversee underwriting processes, including risk assessment, policy issuance, and renewal management, to ensure accurate and timely service delivery. Collaborate with underwriting teams to evaluate property insurance applications, assess risks, and determine appropriate coverage terms and pricing. Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks impacting property insurance, and recommend adjustments to underwriting guidelines and pricing strategies accordingly. Provide leadership and guidance to a team of property insurance professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor on property insurance matters. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide feedback and coaching to team members, and support their professional development goals. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards related to property insurance operations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including claims management, risk engineering, and finance, to optimize operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis on property insurance performance metrics, trends, and key insights for senior management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or property management.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in risk management, insurance, or property management.
  • High-level understanding of property management, risk management, insurance, and claims.
  • Exceptionally organized, efficient, and articulate.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.

  • Previous corporate experience or warehouse management.
