About the position
Zurich's Risk Engineering Property South-West Team is seeking a Property Loss Control Field Risk Engineering Consultant with extensive experience in large property highly protected risk (HPR). This position is primarily a work-from-home role, ideally located within Colorado or Arizona, and includes a company car with expected overnight travel of 25-30%. The role is designed to provide field risk engineering services that meet underwriting requirements while developing and implementing customer service strategies aimed at reducing loss and enhancing customer operations. The consultant will be responsible for providing engineering support to the underwriting team by attending client broker meetings and performing field engineering services as necessary, particularly for larger locations on accounts and/or prospects within the region. The consultant will deliver advanced property consultative services to customers, which includes identifying exposures with significant loss potential, investigating the causes and effects of major losses, and developing property management programs. Additionally, the consultant will assist in marketing Zurich's risk transfer insurance products in collaboration with underwriting professionals and agents across various business segments. Candidates for this position will be evaluated for either the Risk Engineering Consultant or Senior Risk Engineering Consultant level, with the hiring manager determining the appropriate level based on the applicant's experience and skill set relative to the qualifications listed for this position.
Responsibilities
- Provide field risk engineering to meet underwriting requirements.
- Develop and implement customer service strategies that reduce loss and improve customer operations.

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 5 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering area.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- For Senior Risk Engineering Consultant: Bachelor's Degree and 6 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering area OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and 8 or more years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering area.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Fire Science, or related degree.
- HPR Property experience.
- Loss control/Risk Engineering experience within the insurance industry.
- Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
