About the position

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Person to join our team in Macomb, MI. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the proper functioning of our houses and apartment units. This is a full-time position, but we also welcome part-time applicants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance and repair work, with the ability to handle various tasks that are essential for maintaining residential properties. The role requires proficiency in laying LVP flooring, painting, and patching houses to make them rent-ready. The candidate should also be capable of glazing tubs and have a solid understanding of HVAC systems, including furnaces and hot water tanks, with the ability to install and repair these systems as needed. A comprehensive knowledge of plumbing is essential, including skills in snaking drains, repairing drains, and installing faucets and toilets. Additionally, the candidate should have electrical knowledge to switch out GFIs, outlets, and perform basic electrical repairs. Overall, we are looking for someone who can handle most maintenance tasks required in a home or apartment setting.

Responsibilities

  • Lay LVP flooring in residential properties.
  • Paint and patch houses to prepare them for rental.
  • Glaze tubs as needed.
  • Understand and work with HVAC systems, including furnaces and hot water tanks.
  • Install and repair HVAC systems as required.
  • Perform plumbing tasks such as snaking and repairing drains, and installing faucets and toilets.
  • Handle basic electrical repairs, including switching out GFIs and outlets.
  • Patch and paint houses as necessary.

Requirements

  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service skills to effectively communicate with staff and tenants.
  • Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to perform basic electrical repairs.
  • Knowledge of plumbing for homes.
  • Experience in HVAC systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
