About the position

The Property Manager at Volunteers of America North Louisiana is responsible for overseeing the management of HUD multifamily properties within the organization's portfolio. This role involves ensuring compliance with lease agreements, fostering tenant relationships, managing property operations, and contributing to budgeting processes. The Property Manager will also provide administrative support to the Senior Property Manager and ensure a safe and quality living environment for tenants.

Responsibilities

• Provide property management expertise and oversight at HUD multifamily properties.
• Enforce prompt payment and terms of lease agreements.
• Create and cultivate tenant relationships.
• Manage the administration of property operations and leasing.
• Provide input into property budgeting and review financials for sustainability.
• Represent the interests of the property in all aspects of housing operations.
• Monitor property performance related to financial, physical, operating systems, and regulatory compliance.
• Assist in the management process and complete administrative tasks related to property management.
• Train, support, and develop additional staff as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with housing programs, health and safety, ADA compliance, and Equal Employment Opportunity.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in financial analysis, insurance/risk management, accounting, and regulatory compliance is required.
• A minimum of two years' experience in property management or a similar role is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly both in writing and verbally is required.
• Current valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Nice-to-haves

• Specific knowledge and training regarding HUD supportive housing programs preferred.
• Specific knowledge of HUD housing programs, low-income housing tax credit programs, and market housing is preferred.
