About the position

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Propulsion Engineer who will be responsible for developing technical solutions for small rocket motors. The role involves collaborating with teams to support problem investigations related to production and fielded assets, ensuring safety, schedule adherence, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have a background in missile or aerospace engineering and experience in project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Develop technical responsibility for small rocket motors.
  • Support problem investigations related to production and fielded assets.
  • Collaborate across organizations to meet safety, schedule, and cost objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college/university.
  • Model Based Engineering knowledge using CAD models.
  • Working knowledge of Matlab, Creo, and/or EPDM.
  • Must be a US Citizen; this position requires a government security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Missile/aerospace related education or exposure.
  • Familiarity with composite design and/or manufacturing experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of propulsion assemblies and materials.
  • Understanding of computational fluid dynamics and coursework/experience in gas, fluid, and thermodynamics.
