About the position

The Protection & Automation Electrical Engineering Summer Internship at Siemens in Wendell, North Carolina, offers undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the Electrification and Automation division. Interns will support various projects related to protection and automation products, contributing to engineering design tasks, operations, and process improvements while learning about energy automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and complete development work on protection and automation projects to improve engineering productivity.
  • Contribute to daily activities of the group, focusing on configuring and testing energy automation systems.
  • Learn about panel AD/DC schematic drawings, logic diagrams, signal lists, and communication network diagrams.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student studying Electrical Engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of power systems.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet project deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MS Office products, particularly proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
