About the position

The CNC Machinist/Programmer will be responsible for the research and development of prototype manufactured parts for aircraft modifications. This role involves programming, setting up, operating, and quality checking parts using precision machinery and advanced machining techniques. The position is a 4-month contract with potential for full-time employment, emphasizing quality over quantity in a collaborative environment with engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Engineers to interpret CAD drawings, sketches, and documentation.
  • Program using GibbsCAM for CNC machining.
  • Design Jigs/Fixtures and the end part.
  • Perform full setup of Mills and Lathes.
  • Conduct quality checks of parts using micrometers, calipers, and CMM.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of CNC Programming experience in CAM software (GibbsCAM preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in full setups of CNC Mill and Lathe.
  • Experience proving programs, preferably your own creation.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
