Our work is crucial in the current climate of increased infrastructure investment, and we are looking for Estimators to join our dynamic team. This role will involve working closely with FEMA to provide technical assistance in disaster recovery efforts, specifically focusing on public assistance programs. As an Estimator, you will perform field inspections of damaged facilities to understand the probable scope of work, including construction methods. You will conduct both parametric and detailed cost analyses on various public and municipal infrastructure projects. Your responsibilities will include preparing estimates using documented data sources, identifying the scope of eligible work for projects, and producing efficient, traceable, verifiable, and defendable cost estimates that meet FEMA's quality review requirements. You will utilize FEMA's Grants Manager system to assign and track actions throughout project development and collect all related information and documents. Initially, this position will be part-time and casual, transitioning to full-time upon task order awards. The role requires a commitment to travel assignments for up to one year, with trips home reimbursed every 30-45 days, depending on task order specifics. Responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections of damaged facilities to understand the probable scope of work.
  • Conduct both parametric and detailed cost analysis on various public and municipal infrastructure.
  • Prepare estimates using a variety of documented data sources.
  • Identify scope of eligible work for projects, including cause and dimensions of damage.
  • Produce efficient, traceable, verifiable, and defendable cost estimates meeting FEMA's quality review requirements.
  • Utilize FEMA's Grants Manager system to assign and track actions throughout project development.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DHS Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction or Engineering field with 4 years of related technical experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Previous experience in building inspection.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word), Adobe Acrobat, Google Earth, and smartphone.
  • Must be able to commit to travel assignments for up to 1 year in duration.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review.
  • Completion certificates for specified security/privacy courses.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience in a related field or 10 years in a field of expertise.
  • Construction-related experience is a plus.
  • Prior FEMA PA and/or CRC experience preferred.
  • Experience using FEMA Grants Manager.
  • Experience using FEMA's Cost Estimating Format (CEF) in the development of estimates.
  • Current DHS Public Trust clearance/badge.
