About the position

The City of Corona is seeking a dedicated and skilled Public Safety Emergency Communications Support Specialist to join our Information Technology Department. This role is crucial in maintaining, installing, and repairing the City's public safety communication systems. The systems include, but are not limited to, Simulcast VHF radio, P25 capable radio systems, and both data and voice systems that utilize wired and wireless transmission methods. The specialist will also be responsible for all ancillary systems and components that facilitate communication in support of public safety operations. In this position, the specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure that all communication systems are functioning optimally and are up to date with the latest technology. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work under pressure, especially during emergencies. The specialist will also be involved in training staff on the use of communication systems and may be called upon to assist in emergency situations where communication is critical. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to public safety. Responsibilities
