QA Automation Engineer

About the position

Barclays Services Corp. seeks QA Automation Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available). The purpose of the role is to design, develop and improve software, utilizing various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Design, review, maintain and execute automated and manual test cases for testing programs.
• Participate in meetings with Business Analyst, Product Management, and Development teams to clarify requirements.
• Work with senior-level management on defining requirements, edge cases, volume/performance needs and non-functional expectations.
• Define requirements for Test Execution Strategies and Test Plans.
• Design Frontend UI and Serverside automation tests.
• Execute and maintain automated and manual tests and report on projects.
• Analyze and provide estimation for testing engagements.
• Provide strategic support to the Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, mentor and guide other QA team members upon request.
• Assist junior members of the team as needed by providing technical guidance, resolving issues with automation code and advising on best practices.
• Work with JIRA and Test Management tool to track defects and manage tests.
• Conduct test case reviews with the team to ensure that test scenarios capture business functionality.
• Report defects to the Development team participate in scrum meetings, and report test progress and test summary to Project Sponsors, QA Manager, and team members.

Requirements

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
• Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
