About the position

The Quality Control Field Operations Manager is a pivotal role within Monster Energy, responsible for ensuring that co-packers adhere to stringent quality control protocols. This position is crucial in maintaining the highest standards of product quality, which is essential for the brand's reputation and customer satisfaction. The manager will conduct thorough audits of production sites, ensuring compliance with Monster Energy's Quality Control (QC) guidelines and assessing site capabilities. This role involves not only the oversight of existing production sites but also the evaluation of new sites to ensure they meet the necessary quality and safety standards before production begins. In addition to conducting audits, the Quality Control Field Operations Manager will be responsible for developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and managing corrective action responses to any quality issues that arise. This includes troubleshooting equipment problems and ensuring that co-packers comply with all quality and safety regulations. The manager will also be involved in conducting production trials, ensuring that products are manufactured according to the established formulations and quality requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to quality management, with a focus on continuous improvement and adherence to best practices in food safety and sanitation. The position demands a strong understanding of various quality control methodologies, including HACCP, GMP, and microbiological testing. The manager will work closely with production teams to ensure that all processes are followed correctly and that any deviations are addressed promptly. This role is not only about maintaining standards but also about fostering a culture of quality within the organization, encouraging teams to prioritize quality in every aspect of production. The Quality Control Field Operations Manager will also be expected to travel domestically and internationally as needed, which may include off-shift and weekend work to meet project timelines and departmental needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform audits of existing production sites to verify compliance with MECQC Guideline requirements, site documentation, and Process controls.
  • Verify SSOP and COP practices meet MECQC Guideline requirements.
  • Perform new site Quality Control evaluations to determine equipment and process capability.
  • Perform quality and production equipment assessments to ensure OEM and food safety standards are maintained.
  • Manage site follow ups and investigations for critical complaints or audit findings.
  • Perform site follow ups to confirm out of conformance meets requirements.
  • Perform new or existing site product or formulation trials and/or attend commercial production to ensure product is manufactured as per MEC Formulation, Mixing Instructions and Quality requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues identified during the trial.
  • Perform additional departmental responsibilities as identified and assigned by leadership/management to meet departmental and company needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in quality control, quality assurance, food safety or process auditing.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the Food/Beverage Industry preferred.
  • Clear understanding and working knowledge of process and quality system compliance.
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work in a results-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making.
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills.
