About the position

As a QFE Build Programmer for the ArcGIS Enterprise product at Esri, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our software delivery processes. Your primary responsibility will be to aid in building and delivering hot fixes and software patches by porting fixes in C++, Java, JavaScript, and Python into shipping software components. You will also be tasked with developing efficient and resilient build pipelines, which are essential for maintaining the integrity of our software products. This position offers a unique opportunity to optimize and innovate in the realm of build automation, particularly through the creation of hands-off verification tools for the software patches you produce. You will work across a wide spectrum of codebases and third-party components, contributing to the overall success of our flagship products. In this role, you will develop tools and scripts to support build automation for Jenkins pipelines, ensuring that our build processes are streamlined and effective. You will maintain software build pipelines as code using technologies such as Maven, Groovy, and Python, and develop automated test suites to validate various aspects of these pipelines. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with multiple application and functional teams to integrate new features and components into the product stack. This includes providing support for builds, code obfuscation, third-party dependency management, and other release-specific tasks. You will oversee patch integration builds using software patching technologies like InstallShield and MSI/MSP, optimizing build processes for speed and reliability. Additionally, you will support patch source code management using Git and other contemporary version control techniques, debug and fix build-related bugs, and build and update third-party packages such as Postgres, OpenSSL, and Erlang. Your contributions will be vital in ensuring that Esri's geospatial server technology continues to power our customers' mission-critical decision-making systems effectively.
