The Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) at the Gallipolis Developmental Center plays a crucial role in coordinating and implementing client-based habilitative programming. This includes developing individual habilitation plans (IHP), individual program plans (IPP), and individual behavior guidelines. The QIDP acts as the chairperson of inter-disciplinary team meetings, ensuring comprehensive delivery of services that encompass various fields such as speech, medical, pharmacy, social services, psychology, psychiatry, vocational, and educational support. The position requires modeling appropriate behavior and interventions to a caseload of 8-30 clients, while also supervising a team of staff members including residential care supervisors, hospital aide coordinators, therapeutic program workers, teachers, activity therapy specialists, juvenile correctional officers, and social workers. In addition to overseeing the delivery of services, the QIDP is responsible for training staff in effective training techniques and methods. They ensure that habilitative services and documentation meet regulatory requirements, such as those set by Medicaid ICF/IID, and maintain accurate records of program implementation. The QIDP conducts periodic rounds of various treatment locations to monitor staff compliance with regulations and standards, ensuring proper implementation of programming and appropriate client interactions. The role also involves reviewing and modifying client habilitation plans, participating in mock surveys of facilities, and recommending policies and procedures. The QIDP coordinates client home visits, transfers, and discharges to ensure efficiency and acts as a relief residential care supervisor when necessary. They attend meetings, training sessions, and workshops, serve on committees, and act as a liaison with client families, guardians, and community-based staff. Additionally, the QIDP prepares reports and correspondence related to clients and staff, assisting with the coordination of youth admissions and releases.
