Quality Assurance Analyst I

About the position

The Quality Assurance Analyst works under the supervision of the QA Manager, the Analyst is responsible for creating an end-to-end test plan, executing the plan, and managing all activities during the testing cycle. The Analyst will ensure all the objectives are met and the solution works as expected. The role is familiar with the software development cycle and quality assurance methodologies. A QA Analyst could be responsible for testing applications built in house by developers, 3rd party applications, or hardware.

Responsibilities

• Write test plans and test cases from requirements and test cases that are outside the requirements.
• Ability to create user stories from requirements.
• Run manual and automated tests.
• Escalate bugs to Sr. Engineer, developers and/or other stakeholders.
• Participate in the Scrum process during projects.
• Meet project deadlines and deliverables.
• Ability to think abstractly not conform to normal solutions.
• Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of software solutions being tested.
• Run demos of applications tested.
• Business process understanding.

Requirements

• 2+ years of Quality Assurance experience required.
• Knowledge of Scrum process, QA theory and methodology.
• Experience in testing UI, API, Data Conversion, UAT, Performance etc.
• Can build and execute different types of tests: integration, system, regression; positive, negative; performance, load, stress (and others).
• Ability to conduct exploratory testing; able to test a product in the absence of requirements.
• Strong written, and verbal communication skills.
• Good analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to organize work efficiently across multiple projects and responsibilities.
• Works well under pressure to meet due dates.
• Able to work with no or minimal supervision and willing to take the initiative.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent level of experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or other technically related field preferred.
