About the position

Zurich North America is seeking a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our Group in North American, Stevens Point, WI. The team is responsible for shielding the company's systems from security risks, while designing technology strategies that enable Zurich businesses to achieve their goals. Information Technology functions include application development and management, enterprise architecture, and technology risk and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the QA Manager, Developers, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Business Operations and other QA staff to ensure that business requirements are testable and verifiable.
  • Test Estimation: Able to provide basic/simple estimate for Testing Work Effort.
  • Test Planning: Reviews documentation and provides input to Master and Detailed test plans, traceability matrix, estimation, test metric reports.
  • Inform the Test lead and Project Manager of any issues that may affect the schedule, budget, or quality of the solution or the testing process.
  • Participates in the Agile ceremonies.
  • Test Preparation: Read and understand Business Requirement/User Stories and translate functional enhancements into Test Cases.
  • Prepare Test Specification Documents (Test Conditions, Test Cases, Test Scripts).
  • Perform peer reviews for system/integration test specifications.
  • Determine the test conditions and verify that they match their related development stages and requirements.
  • Group test scenarios and test conditions into test cases.
  • Define and create test data to be used for testing.
  • Ensure the test cases are thoroughly reviewed and amended based on review comments.
  • Translate Business Requirements into Test Cases.
  • Test Execution: Participate in test readiness reviews and turn over activities between the development and testing teams.
  • Perform System and Integration Test Execution.
  • Log new or re-open existing defects and provide details on how to recreate the issue.
  • Review requirements documentation to determine the cause of the defect.
  • Review and satisfy the test entry criteria defined in the Test Execution checklist.
  • Meticulously follow the step-by-step instructions in the Test Script assigned according to the Test Plan.
  • Compare the actual results with the expected results to identify discrepancies.
  • Quality: Adhere to AIG policies and procedures.
  • Contribute continuous improvement activities for Testing.
  • Conduct Knowledge Transfer (KT) to team members.
  • Test Deliverables: Input to Test Estimates and Test plans, Requirement Traceability Matrix, Executed Test Scripts, Logged defects.
  • Keep up to date on current technology: Read periodic information systems journals/magazines, participate in professional user groups, attend professional conferences, research and evaluate new tools and techniques.
  • Adhere to all IS policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Two year degree in CIS/Computer Science or 1-2 years of IT experience in lieu of degree.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred experience with testing suites.
  • Preferred working knowledge of Microsoft .Net technologies (C#, VB.Net).
  • Preferred working knowledge of Web Services.
  • Working knowledge of XML.
  • Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with Microsoft Test Manager or Team Foundation Server is a bonus.
  • Ability to apply systems thinking to generate solutions.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • Presentation skills with the ability to present to multiple levels of leadership and technical knowledge.
