As a Quality Control - CMM Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and video inspection equipment for first piece, in-process, and final inspections. Your role will involve managing and maintaining a database of CMM and video inspection programs, ensuring that inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained, and identifying best work holding practices for various jobs. You will also be tasked with interpreting and communicating CMM results to support production, training production personnel in the proper use of measuring equipment, and performing inspections using various hand measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers. Additionally, you will assist in the development of work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) as needed. Responsibilities

  • Program and operate CMM and video inspection equipment for first piece, in-process, and final inspections.
  • Manage and maintain database of CMM and video inspection programs.
  • Maintain inspection equipment including probe and machine calibrations, periodic physical maintenance and software/hardware updates.
  • Identify and implement best work holding practices on a job by job basis; aid in design/procurement of work holding fixtures.
  • Interpret and communicate CMM results to support production.
  • Train production personnel in proper use of measuring equipment and interpretation of program results.
  • Perform inspections using a variety of hand measuring tools: Micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Assist in the development of work instructions/SOP's as needed; other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings.
  • Strong math skills; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Be a team player as well as a self-starter; dependable with strong work ethic.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous CMM programming experience.
  • Experience with MCOSMOS.
  • Understanding of GD&T.
  • Previous machining experience; mechanical aptitude.
  • Previous inspection/metrology experience.
  • Previous CAD experience.
