About the position

The Quality Control II Inspector at Orthofix plays a crucial role in ensuring that all parts received through the inspection process meet the required specifications before being released into Finished Goods. This position supports the Quality Engineering department by providing feedback on inspection techniques and maintaining high standards of inspection and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of manufactured parts, subassemblies, gauges, and raw materials.
  • Complete first article inspection of new and revised parts.
  • Accurately complete all quality inspection related documentation, ensuring Good Documentation Practices (GDP) are followed.
  • Identify and issue non-conforming product reports for products and raw materials that do not meet specifications.
  • Support Quality Engineering with input on new RIRs for Alpha Beta products.
  • Review set DHRs for release.
  • Complete daily Oracle transactions for final review and other necessary transactions.
  • Support calibration activities as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a mechanical Quality Control Inspector.
  • 1 year of Quality Control Inspector experience in the medical device industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to use calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and other standard mechanical inspection tools.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, engineering specifications, and inspection documents.
  • Experience with writing non-conformance reports.
  • Ability to perform detailed dimensional and cosmetic inspection on products.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
  • Detail-oriented.

Nice-to-haves

  • ASQ certified or equivalent in experience.
  • Technical background in the Medical Device industry is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Oracle or other operating ERP systems is preferred.
