Welcome to Maxis, home to tinkerers, craftspeople, and storytellers. Our goal is to inspire everyone to make a better world through creative play. As a Quality Designer, your primary focus will be on ensuring that we can build long-term scalable processes while participating in the test responsibilities. You will also work on improving the operational efficiency of QA efforts by assessing current quality assurance practices and incorporating new QA strategies. This role involves working on department-level projects and operational efficiency projects, reporting directly to a Development Director II. In this position, you will partner with senior development, production, design, and QV team members to ensure that we create high-quality features from both a functional and qualitative perspective. You will guide feature quality by analyzing internal development and live player data, completing testing strategies, and conducting design reviews. Collaboration with production will be essential to improve feature quality through establishing feedback processes and providing applicable suggestions on how the features could be enhanced for our players. Your focus will be on customer experience, translating that into effective test strategies for products or features. As a mentor to local and remote test teams, you will help them find solutions to complex problems and grow their capabilities. You will also provide valuable input to the management team, assisting in setting goals for the team and your QV peers. Identifying risks to the feature and overall project as early as possible will be crucial, as you partner with development and other teams to determine mitigation strategies. You will propose and enact solutions to development process problems and report progress, current status, and risks to your features through regular communication with peers, managers, and partners across the organization.
