About the position
The Rehabilitation Quality Development Specialist (QDS) is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance program within the Western Region of the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. This role involves significant travel and remote work, focusing on auditing casework records, consulting with staff, providing training, and administering testing processes for independent rehabilitation counselors.
Responsibilities
- Auditing casework records.
- Consulting with staff and management on casework issues.
- Providing training to counselors and other field-based staff.
- Administering the promotional testing process for independent rehabilitation counselors.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling or Counseling from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in a rehabilitation service program;
- Master's degree in a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in a rehabilitation service program;
- Bachelor's degree in rehabilitation counseling, counseling, or a closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in a rehabilitation service program;
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience providing rehabilitation services to diverse disability groups.
- Demonstrated experience approving casework and service delivery decisions in a rehabilitation program.
- Thorough knowledge of EIPD VR and IL policies and procedures, as well as RSA Federal regulations governing VR Agencies.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge and experience developing and providing training/presentations to internal or external staff and stakeholders.
- Experience working effectively with teams.
- Experience prioritizing tasks and implementing strategies to manage deadlines.
