About The Position

As a Quality Engineer for John Deere Paton located in Paton, IA, you will support Welding and Fabrication and other areas in the factory such as assembly as needed. You will lead and own the ongoing management of a dynamic production quality control plan, support and lead engineering projects to improve quality through Qnote/data analysis, dynamic control plan execution, Continuous Improvement projects, and warranty data analysis. Additionally, you will support the Factory Engineering organization through key initiatives focused on Smart-Connected Factory and Technology/Analytics capabilities, achieve Continuous Improvement targets for safety, quality, delivery, and efficiency, and support tactical supplier quality management.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to support shop floor production employees
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement processes
  • Understanding of safety, quality, and delivery metrics
  • Understanding of SAP system
  • Ability to work Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm
  • Ability to work overtime, off shift and weekends as business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with quality process/systems improvement projects- IGNITION, JDAAT as an MES/Quality tool
  • Proficient with SAP
  • W-Planner and or MPPlanner knowledge and experience
  • Experience with capital projects
  • Experience specifically with Welding and Fabrication of small and large weldments

Responsibilities
