About the position

The Quality Improvement Analyst role provides the opportunity to be part of an exceptional, dynamic team of individuals who ensure that the data submitted to regulatory bodies and reporting programs reflects the extraordinary care our patients receive at Nebraska Medicine. This individual will focus on chart review, report creation, and data analysis, and they will collaborate with members of quality and operational teams as well as clinical staff and medical directors to achieve our Quality goals. This role also offers the flexibility to work remotely and flex hours as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct clinical chart reviews and patient record data abstraction.
  • Create reports and analyze data for quality improvement.
  • Collaborate with quality and operational teams, clinical staff, and medical directors.
  • Ensure data submitted to regulatory bodies reflects the care provided.
  • Provide excellent customer service to clinicians, patients, and other stakeholders.
  • Critically evaluate clinical variables and their alignment with quality definitions.
  • Perform accurate data entry and summarize data findings.
  • Create presentations and reports based on data analysis.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of clinical chart review and/or patient record data abstraction experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in health-related field.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of anatomy and disease processes.
  • Exceptional communication and organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform accurate data entry.
  • Ability to interpret, summarize, and visualize data.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including ability to create pivot tables and utilize vlookup.
  • Proficient with Microsoft PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office applications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Clinical background.
  • Completion of a medical certification program.
  • Experience with quality benchmarking tools or registries (e.g., Vizient, NSQIP, GWTG/Get With The Guidelines).
  • Knowledge of CMS and TJC pay-for-reporting and pay-for-performance quality programs.
  • Experience with electronic health records, EPIC.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Nebraska or appropriate allied health license.
