About the position

The Quality Inspector at SCRAM Systems is responsible for ensuring that products meet or exceed quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. This role involves conducting inspections of incoming components, in-process assemblies, and finished goods, as well as developing standard work instructions and conducting root cause analysis on nonconformances. The Quality Inspector collaborates with various departments to ensure effective communication and compliance with quality management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection of incoming components, in process, and final inspection of finished goods for workmanship and conformance to inspection plans and drawings.
  • Develop standard work instructions, process procedures, and inspection plans.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on nonconformances.
  • Understand and interpret GD&T to evaluate product quality compliance and provide reports as required.
  • Perform inspection utilizing various inspection instruments such as caliper, micrometer, and automated visual system.
  • Collaborate with all departments to ensure effective information and data transfer to meet customer needs and organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with the total Quality and Environmental Management Systems by participating in continuous improvements, process audits, and problem solving.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; technical associate's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of inspection experience in a manufacturing or similar industry.
  • In-depth understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and interpretation of Quality standards.
  • Experience with inspection instruments such as micrometers, calipers, torque wrenches, and multi-meters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and read blueprints.
