About the position

As a Mechanical Design Engineer in R&D at TEL, you will be responsible for the design and prototyping of mechanical and electro-mechanical components and systems. This includes working with vacuum, cryogenic, gas delivery, and thermal control systems. You will define requirements, system specifications, input/output, and working parameters for hardware, electrical, and/or software compatibility. Your role will involve identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses, as well as using CAD and simulation applications to create models and perform structural, thermal, and fluid analysis, specifically using CREO and/or Solid Works. You will explore and implement novel materials and manufacturing processes, collaborate with electrical, process, and software engineers to develop integrated systems solutions, and work with suppliers and external partners for component prototyping and manufacturing. Additionally, you will maintain compliance with industry standards and safety regulations and utilize engineering analysis tools such as FEA and CFD in the design process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of related experience; or master's degree with 6 years of related experience.
  • Ability to travel 25%.

Nice-to-haves

  • Degrees in Physics, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of development, deployment, and sustaining engineering on semiconductor wafer handling automation equipment, including load ports, wafer transport, and similar robotic equipment.
