About the position

The Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech) position at CommunityMed Urgent Care involves performing radiology exams and supporting various clinical duties in a fast-paced urgent care environment. The role requires collaboration with healthcare providers to ensure patient care and safety while maintaining high standards of service and compliance with medical regulations.

Responsibilities

• Arrive to shift on time and prepare clinic rooms for patients.
• Room and triage patients, recording vital signs and relevant information.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure clinic rooms are stocked.
• Operate radiology equipment and perform exams as ordered by the provider.
• Ensure radiation doses are kept ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable).
• Collect and process lab specimens and perform occupational medicine testing.
• Educate patients on clinic services and assist with patient call-backs.
• Perform front office duties once cross-trained and assist with special projects as needed.
• Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
• Contact the Radiologic Technologist Manager for emergencies or issues.

Requirements

• Active Registration on Texas Medical Board (NCT, LMRT, or RT).
• Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
• Preferred 2 years' experience in clinical settings including triage and patient care.
• Current BLS certification.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT(R)).
• DOT Drug/Bat certification within 30 days of start date.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with injections, phlebotomy, and occupational medicine testing.
• Familiarity with point of care testing (Flu, Strep, Mono, COVID swabs).
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
