Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of duties to ensure safe and accurate radiation therapy treatment/simulations to patients.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for each patient and participate in the orientation and education of patients to treatment regime.
  • Oversee department quality assurance activities including monitoring the daily machine and CT simulator.
  • Effectively utilize problem solving and negotiation skills to manage conflict.
  • Model appropriate behavior at all times to patients and staff at all levels.

Requirements

  • An Associates Degree in an accredited Radiation Therapy program is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Good customer service skills are required as evidenced through strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience working in an EMR environment with MOSAIQ exposure is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to assume managerial responsibilities in the absence of the Chief Radiation Therapist and serve as a role model at all times is required.
  • Membership in professional organizations is recommended.
  • One (1) year of related work experience in radiation oncology is required.
  • New graduates with the completion of one (1) year clinical internship in a major cancer center with experience working with current linear accelerators, simulation and verification/record systems will be considered.
  • Certification and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with current licensure in the state of Massachusetts required.
  • New graduates must be registry eligible and licensed in Massachusetts.
  • BLS certification is required.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons.
