About the position

The Radiology Technologist Assistant supports the needs of the Radiology team with the use of the Radiology Information System, basic computer skills, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Organizes rooms, stocks linen, changes and properly removes linen.
  • Uses two patient identifiers prior to transporting patients to and from Radiology that are not requiring patient monitor or highflow oxygen.
  • Properly operates stretchers, patient beds, and wheelchairs.
  • Reviews daily department schedules in order to work efficiently with the Radiologic team members.
  • Maintains office and medical supplies in all Imaging areas and informs team leader when supplies need to be ordered.
  • Responds to patients and visitors promptly and politely.
  • Operates radiographic equipment and accessories in accordance with the principles of ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable).

Requirements

  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required)
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • 1 clinical semester completed in an imaging program, currently enrolled (required)
  • 1 year of patient care experience (preferred)
  • Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)

Nice-to-haves

  • Training in EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
  • Training in Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred)
