The Radiology Technologist Assistant supports the needs of the Radiology team with the use of the Radiology Information System, basic computer skills, and excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
Organizes rooms, stocks linen, changes and properly removes linen.
Uses two patient identifiers prior to transporting patients to and from Radiology that are not requiring patient monitor or highflow oxygen.
Properly operates stretchers, patient beds, and wheelchairs.
Reviews daily department schedules in order to work efficiently with the Radiologic team members.
Maintains office and medical supplies in all Imaging areas and informs team leader when supplies need to be ordered.
Responds to patients and visitors promptly and politely.
Operates radiographic equipment and accessories in accordance with the principles of ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable).
Requirements
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care) (required)
High School Diploma or GED (required)
1 clinical semester completed in an imaging program, currently enrolled (required)
1 year of patient care experience (preferred)
Experience with Radiology Information System (preferred)
Nice-to-haves
Training in EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
Training in Picture archiving communication system (PACS) (preferred)
