About the position

The position involves performing a wide variety of Radiographic procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The individual will assume responsibility for the quality and quantity of work in the designated area, ensuring that all procedures are conducted effectively and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Selects type and number of films to provide diagnostic information required, following departmental guidelines.
  • Prepares and positions patients relative to diagnostic equipment and performs radiographic examinations with high accuracy, minimizing repeat films.
  • Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the working area.
  • Maintains flow of patients through the area and quality of films under the direct supervision of the Technical Manager.
  • Demonstrates knowledgeable operation of radiographic equipment, ensuring proper care for radiation safety including collimation, shielding, and proper identification of films.
  • Maintains a professional demeanor towards patients, medical staff, and colleagues.
  • Performs all necessary functions to ensure effective patient care, including clerical and transport duties.
  • Assists the Technical Manager in daily processor/film sensitometry.
  • Completes all patient tracking functions to ensure proper and accurate billing, report transcription, and film retrieval.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an approved Radiologic Technology program.
  • Level of knowledge associated with completion of Radiologic Technology program.
  • Possess a valid Massachusetts State license or temporary license and ARRT certification or eligible with one year to obtain.
  • BLS certification required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associates degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills sufficient to satisfactorily explain examination processes to patients.
