About the position

The Radiology Technologist position is a full-time role focused on performing radiographic imaging procedures under indirect supervision. The role involves patient care, ensuring safety during procedures, and maintaining accurate records. The position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and offers additional incentives for weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties associated with acquisition, processing, submission for interpretation, and archiving of radiographic images.
  • Care for patients while in the radiology department.
  • Demonstrate competency in positioning for all radiological procedures as per departmental policy.
  • Communicate with patients to explain procedures, obtain clinical history, and address any questions or concerns.
  • Position patients and select exposure factors for various radiologic examinations while ensuring radiation protection and safety.
  • Review diagnostic imaging requests for appropriateness based on clinical information and communicate questionable orders to radiologists.
  • Take verbal orders from providers and enter them appropriately in the RIS system.
  • Prepare and maintain records in accordance with regulatory agencies and document billing codes for accurate patient charges.
  • Assist, communicate, and consult with Radiologists and work independently with providers outside the department.
  • Observe patients during exams for changes in status and make appropriate interventions or contact primary caregivers.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring for other personnel, including student radiographers, and report critical occurrences to the next level of authority.
  • Utilize supplies and equipment in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Maintain required continuing education and applicable certifications for modality.

Requirements

  • High School or GED Diploma Graduate.
  • Graduate of a JRCERT approved School of Radiologic Technology.
  • ARRT Registered or Registry eligible through the ARRT.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required.
