Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of the basic competencies within industries, specific occupations and specific employers, including job readiness, job search etiquette, technical skills and work environment.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement Rapid Response activities for businesses and affected workers.
  • Coordinate efforts with the TWC Field Representative to develop Rapid Response Management on site meetings.
  • Must coordinate orientations for affected staff with the TWC Field Representative, Department of Labor Representative and TAA Staff as needed.
  • May coordinate job search workshop sessions and or Job Fairs.
  • Notifies the board Rapid Response Manager and Business Development Unit immediately upon hearing of an upcoming lay off.
  • Order necessary brochures and handouts from TWC or vendor; prepare other handouts necessary for orientations and job search workshops; maintain sufficient inventory of materials; prepares packets for Rapid Response activities.
  • Develops and maintains activity reports; ensures data is entered timely and accurately into TWIST and WIT.
  • Assists program participants in developing vocational goals reflective of their skills, capabilities and interests.
  • Manages participant progress towards achieving goals by creating and updating plans.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field or a satisfactory equivalent of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing and proof of liability insurance are required.
