Requirements

  • Must be able to obtain an industrial power truck license.
  • Ability to perform each duty satisfactorily.
  • Ability to work well in a group and individually.
  • Some degree of mechanical aptitude may be required.
  • Previous experience with presses or similar equipment may be essential.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Read and follow instructions on routings and work instructions for each job.
  • Check stock bins for adequate supplies of sub-assembly, parts, and any other items needed.
  • Complete all departmental paperwork, such as routings, assembly tickets, and production status sheets.
  • Assemble product as instructed on work instructions or routings.
  • Operate machinery safely for pre-assembly components, including hand tools and large stamping or molding presses.
  • Perform frequent quality checks using inspection tools such as gauges and micrometers.
  • Relay all information about current job to oncoming shift.
  • Maintain production rate on each job.
  • Prepare work by studying assembly instructions and blueprint specifications.
  • Verify quality specifications by measuring completed components/products.
  • Ensure data accuracy before transacting in the inventory system.
  • Fill in as Operator in other departments as directed/rotated.
  • Train new operators when assigned.
  • Practice 6S and maintain clean and safe work areas.
