About the position

Friedman Real Estate is seeking an experienced Real Estate Asset Manager to oversee a portfolio of properties and work closely with the receiver in managing their duties and responsibilities. This role is crucial in ensuring that operational, financial, and strategic aspects of the properties are optimized. The ideal candidate will bring 2-5 years of hands-on real estate experience, including some exposure to receiverships.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that proper insurance coverage is maintained for each property in the portfolio. Review policies and handle claims as needed.
  • Identify potential risks associated with the property and develop strategies to mitigate those risks (e.g., property damage, tenant defaults, liability concerns).
  • Assist in managing capital improvement projects, ensuring they are on time and within budget. Coordinate with contractors and vendors.
  • Work alongside leasing agents to ensure tenant satisfaction and retention. Review leasing strategies and execute leasing decisions as needed.
  • Coordinate the sale or disposition of the property if necessary, ensuring that the sale process is legally compliant, well-executed, and in the best interest of stakeholders. Oversee the marketing of the property for sale or lease, engaging brokers and potential buyers or tenants as appropriate.
  • Supervise and manage any on-site staff, contractors, or third-party property management teams to ensure smooth operations. Collaborate with attorneys, accountants, real estate brokers, and other professionals involved in the receivership process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in real estate management, asset management, or commercial property management, with a preference for experience in distressed or foreclosed properties.
  • Strong understanding of real estate operations, financials, and reporting.
  • Experience in working with receiverships or distressed asset management is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
