About the position

Archimedes Asset Management, Inc. is seeking a self-motivated and hard-working Asset Manager to join our entrepreneurial team in Newport Beach, CA. The Asset Manager will play a crucial role in providing impactful decision support across various business functions, including operational activities, acquisitions, dispositions, refinances, tax planning, capital expenditure (CapEx) initiatives, budgeting, and a range of entrepreneurial initiatives. This position is part of a small team that works directly with the President and Office Manager, facilitating day-to-day activities related to our existing portfolio and spearheading growth initiatives. The role requires a high level of autonomy and entrepreneurial initiative, as well as the ability to make critical financial and operational decisions. Our existing portfolio includes over 1,000 multifamily units, more than 2,000 acres of farmland, and several unique projects such as water rights and renewable energy initiatives. As an Asset Manager, you will conduct complex discounted cash flow analyses using financial modeling techniques in Excel, prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and strategic recommendations to the President, and perform acquisition underwriting and due diligence. You will also track internal rates of return, manage capital initiatives, and create portfolio-level financial modeling and estate planning initiatives. Occasional travel to visit properties and develop CapEx initiatives will be required, along with managing lender-required reporting and compliance reporting. Responsibilities

  • Conduct complex discounted cash flow analyses using financial modeling techniques in Excel, providing strategic insights to the President.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports and strategic recommendations to the President, influencing key business decisions.
  • Perform acquisition underwriting and due diligence, including the review of all third-party reports.
  • Obtain and analyze market information relating to proposed or existing investments including taking the leading role in revenue management.
  • Track internal rates of return and complete all budgeting for existing properties.
  • Support, plan, budget, and manage capital initiatives.
  • Occasional travel to visit properties and develop CapEx initiatives.
  • Create and manage portfolio-level financial modeling and estate planning initiatives.
  • Manage lender-required reporting, insurance renewals, and compliance reporting.
  • Happily perform any and all work needed to grow the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in finance, real estate, economics, accounting, or engineering.
  • Real estate industry experience required.
  • 3+ years of FP&A experience (or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with excellent knowledge in Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preferred certifications include Argus, REFM, and CFA Level I, demonstrating specific industry and job knowledge.
