As a Refining Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support for plant operations, focusing on specific units within the refinery. Your role will involve daily monitoring and troubleshooting of processes, optimizing operations, and contributing to the design and development of capital projects and modifications to existing units. You will leverage state-of-the-art technology in process simulation and optimization to recommend programs and procedures that enhance the economic efficiency of refining operations. In addition to process engineering, you may also engage with various engineering disciplines, including Process Control Engineering, Operations Research Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. This multifaceted role will allow you to work closely with line operators and engineers to maintain and troubleshoot control systems, develop advanced control applications, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. You will gain valuable insights into refinery economics, blending, scheduling, and the overall operations of a tank farm, preparing you for a successful career in the energy industry.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for plant operations, focusing on specific units within the refinery.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot daily operations, ensuring optimal performance of processes.
  • Apply state-of-the-art technology for process simulation and optimization.
  • Recommend programs and procedures to enhance economic efficiency in refining operations.
  • Collaborate with line operators and engineers to maintain and troubleshoot control systems.
  • Develop advanced control applications for process units, including product blending and dynamic matrix controls.
  • Assist in the development of planning, blending, scheduling, and process models for refinery engineers.
  • Work on environmental projects to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Analyze refinery process flow data to identify equipment failures and variances from optimal levels.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Military experience is a plus.
