About the position

The Region Secretary/Receptionist at CSEA serves as the first point of contact for visitors and telephone inquiries at the Regional Office. This role involves a variety of secretarial support duties, including managing visitor access, handling phone calls, processing mail, and providing administrative assistance to staff members. The position is essential for ensuring smooth operations within the office and facilitating communication between the public and the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Control entrance to the Region's main entrance, screen visitors, and admit them through an electronically controlled door.
  • Operate a telephone switchboard and answer calls to the Region's main telephone number.
  • Process the Region's mail, including opening envelopes, date stamping documents, and distributing mail to staff.
  • Provide secretarial support to Region's staff members, including proofreading correspondence and typing documents.
  • Maintain file systems and organize office supplies and materials.
  • Accept members' calls to register for workshops and training programs, entering pertinent information into a database.
  • Organize and maintain booklet and brochure display racks and accept reservations for meeting rooms.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Good telephone manner and ability to type 30 words per minute.
  • Good grammar and spelling skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.

Benefits

  • Starting salary of $41,222.
