About the position

The Regional EHS Manager at Depot Connect International (DCI) is responsible for providing leadership and direction to ensure compliance with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards across assigned locations. This role involves strategic planning, technical support, and management of EHS issues, while fostering a culture of safety and compliance within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the EHS technical expert for the assigned region, managing environmental, health, safety, and industrial hygiene issues.
  • Travel to various locations for inspections, coaching, and identifying EHS hazards.
  • Lead the change in EHS operating culture using Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles.
  • Manage compliance programs and act as a liaison with regulatory agencies.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to integrate EHS considerations into business practices.
  • Develop and implement a safety-oriented strategy and report on EHS KPIs.
  • Create specific EHS objectives and action plans based on risk assessments.
  • Maintain an EHS compliance calendar for regulatory activities.
  • Work with regional leadership to ensure operational controls are in place and action items are resolved.
  • Conduct site assessments to evaluate compliance with OSHA standards and prioritize programs to address gaps.
  • Manage incident investigations and develop corrective actions for EHS issues.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of EHS corrective actions.
  • Ensure timely regulatory event reporting to OSHA and EPA.
  • Perform risk and hazard assessments and develop emergency response plans.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through communication and training.
  • Advise commercial staff on EHS implications of new services or products.
  • Engage in audit actions to ensure compliance and maintain accurate EHS records.
  • Cultivate relationships with internal and external clients to achieve results.
  • Assist legal counsel in regulatory enforcement actions and stay updated on industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in EHS or related Science field is highly desired; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Over 10 years of experience in EHS function may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in EHS within a high-risk industry.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, particularly OSHA and EPA laws.
  • Basic management skills including goal setting and performance tracking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and business acumen.
  • Experience managing multiple sites.
  • Preference for EHS-related professional certifications (ASP, CSP, IHIT, CIH, CHMM, etc.).
